Frequently Asked Questions
Feedback Guardian AI
What is Feedback Guardian AI?
When sound leaks back into open microphones, bleed, room reverb and feedback build on one another. The tools available today often can’t fix it quickly and precisely enough in the middle of a live show, so Feedback Guardian AI was built to make that work easier: Clean Bleed, Clear Resonance, Cut Feedback.
It was developed from data collected in real situations — live music performances and speaking events — with one main goal: to be as easy to use as possible.
What exactly does it reduce?
- Clean Bleed — reduces cymbal, drum and instrument spill.
- Clear Resonance — reduces room reverb and standing waves.
- Cut Feedback — stops howl before it builds in the PA.
Does it add latency?
No. It works in real time with no added delay — the added latency is listed as 0 ms (Zero Latency) on all platforms.
Do I have to set it up or tune it?
No. It is fully automatic: intelligent processing, with no setup needed.
Does it work for speech and singing?
Yes. Speech and Singing are both listed among its input signal modes. The feature list also includes Auto Mix, Feedback Reduction, Bleed Reduction, Reverb Reduction, Fully Automatic and Zero Latency.
Where is it used?
The jobs and venues listed for it are Front of House, Live Monitoring, Worship, Theatre, Live Broadcast, NewsRoom, Podcasting and Post Production.
Which platforms and formats are available?
- Plugin — VST3 (PC & Mac) and AU (Mac).
- Standalone app — PC & Mac.
- iPad app and iPhone app — standalone.
By platform: Mac = AU, VST3 and Standalone · Windows = VST3 and Standalone · iPad & iPhone = Standalone App.
What are the system requirements?
Mac
CPU: Apple Silicon (M1 or later) or Intel x86_64 — one Universal Binary supports both.
OS: macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later; macOS 12 (Monterey) or later recommended for best stability.
Formats: AU · VST3 · Standalone
Windows
CPU: x64 — Intel Core i3-12100 (12th Gen) or newer, or equivalent; AMD Ryzen 5 5000-series or newer. Avoid Intel N-series (N100 / N200 / N305).
OS: Windows 10 64-bit or later, Windows 11.
Formats: VST3 · Standalone
Architecture: 64-bit only (32-bit hosts are not supported).
iPad & iPhone
Chip: Apple A14 Bionic or later.
OS: iOS / iPadOS 12 or later.
Format: Standalone App
All platforms
Sample rate: 44.1 kHz – 96 kHz
Added latency: 0 ms (Zero Latency)
Can I use it in a 32-bit host?
No. On Windows it is 64-bit only; 32-bit hosts are not supported.
Is there a demo?
Yes — Demo 7 Days: the full version runs for seven days, with separate Windows and Mac downloads. After the demo period, audio output is muted for 5 seconds after every 55 seconds until a licence is activated.
Guardian Host
What is Guardian Host?
Guardian Host is an AU & VST3 plug-in host built for the stage. You route, arrange and control every channel freely on one page, and it comes with essential Guardian plug-ins included.
Which plug-in formats can it load?
VST3 and AU — so you can bring the plug-ins you already own.
What happens if one of my plug-ins is faulty?
Each plug-in is scanned in its own process, so a faulty plug-in can’t take your show down.
How does signal routing work?
You can wire any input to any plug-in, bus or output, in mono or stereo. Stereo sources switch plug-ins to stereo automatically, and side-chain, Pan and Trim are built in.
Your whole show sits on one canvas with every channel, plug-in and bus in sight. You can drag, connect, rename and Auto Arrange, with full Undo, Redo and History.
Can it run a show with cues?
Yes. You capture cues and fire them with GO. Recall Safe and per-cue scope protect what must not move, and set lists and MIDI controller mapping keep the show in your hands.
How does it handle latency and CPU load?
Its low-latency multicore engine spreads your plug-ins across every CPU core, with automatic delay compensation, and is described as stable down to 64-sample buffers.
Does it have an automixer?
Yes. It has a built-in gain-sharing AutoMix with groups and weights, for panels and talk shows.
Which plug-ins come with Guardian Host?
Three Guardian Stock Plug-ins are listed as included with Guardian Host (zero added latency, VST3 & AU). They wait in Guardian Host’s own Guardian Stock list:
- Guardian Easy EQ — three musical bands plus clean HPF and LPF; the Q follows your move; instrument presets and Auto Gain.
- Guardian Easy Dynamic — Gate/Expander, Compressor, De-Esser and Limiter in one strip; ready-to-go presets for voices and instruments; side-chain input and linked stereo.
- Guardian Easy EFX — Room, Plate, Hall, Mono Delay and ping-pong Stereo Delay with tempo sync; four simple knobs.
Are the other plug-ins shown on the page (Feedback Guardian AI, LIVEVOX, Expert EQ and the rest) included too?
The Guardian Host page shows them under “And more plug-ins for live sound” as Upbeat Engine tools (VST3 & AU). They are sold separately; only Guardian Easy EQ, Easy Dynamic and Easy EFX come included with Guardian Host.
Guardian Plugins
Which plug-in formats are the Guardian plug-ins?
VST3 & AU.
Which plug-ins are in the Guardian range?
Besides the three Guardian Stock Plug-ins (Easy EQ, Easy Dynamic, Easy EFX), these Upbeat Engine tools are shown as plug-ins for live sound:
- Feedback Guardian AI — cleans spill, tames room resonance and stops feedback before it builds; fully automatic, zero latency.
- Guardian LIVEVOX — AI vocal cleanup for the stage: AMB clears background noise, TAIL trims room reverb; HPF and LPF with cut, shelf or bell shapes; a one-knob vocal compressor (3:1, auto release, auto make-up) with GR and IN/OUT meters; presets; zero latency.
- Guardian Auto Pitch Detector — real-time pitch correction to your key and scale; Studio mode keeps the formant, Live mode runs at 0 ms.
- Guardian Bus Compressor — Simple, Advanced or Multiband (1–3 bands), six color modes, external side-chain, lookahead, up to 8x oversampling, level-matched bypass and presets.
- Guardian Expert EQ — 24 bands with dynamic EQ, Zero Latency, Natural or Linear Phase, per-band Mid/Side and EQ Match.

Can I buy the Guardian plug-ins individually?
Yes — each Guardian plug-in outside the three included with Guardian Host is sold separately.
